SEO takes a participatory approach in all aspects of its work, influenced by the new development paradigm that prioritizes people over things. The traditional knowledge of the rural poor is valued and respected, and there is confidence that rural people can form self-sufficient organizations. On a practical level, the approach's central theme is decentralization and empowerment. In order for a community to be able to work for its own development and reduce its reliance, it must be fully involved at all stages of the development cycle. Participation of communities in project identification, planning, management, implementation, and evaluation is a critical component of SEO work. Internally, a participatory approach is used to manage the affairs of SEO. Externally, SEO's role as a "change agent" contributes to the development of community management structures capable of managing their own development. Through Access to Justice and fundamental rights, the community gains the ability to demand accountability from leaders and officials in all aspects of their affairs. It reinforces the community's belief in the worth of their own development choices and efforts. These community management structures are not parallel structures, but rather traditional institutions that promote equitable representation and participation. Human resource
development is an essential component of our development work. This includes ensuring that the community is trained and skilled, as well as organized, in order to maximize the community's ability to direct its own development. SEO is committed to maximizing its impact by transforming field experiences into knowledge that can be used to influence the development policies and practices of NGOs, donors, and government agencies. This is critical for achieving the long-term goal of eradicating poverty.SEO as an NGO and Non-for-Profit Organization has qualified and adequate human resources, who are selected based on the SEO HR Policy and made up of qualified employees who have different skills and competencies depending on their job nature and position.
